FRREEEEDOM! (from Microsoft Office)

Word of the Day
OpenOffice: that's all you need to know. Oh yea---and that it's free.

I've been working with it for about 3 months now and it has completely unshackled my chains from the oppression of having to having to shell out $499.95 for a pretty package that will bloat my hard drive and provide me new functions that I won't use 95% of the time.

I haven't run across a Microsoft Office document (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) that this rebellious software can't open or save back into MS format. Oh yea--and it's free.

I've been using openoffice for nearly a year now. And I haven't really found anything that I need that it can't do.

And it'd free.

One thing openOffice can't do. Presenter View (it allows you to go through a powerpoint presentation non-linear-ly)

And it's free. (with office 2007)

Sorry, I switched to '07.

But it's free (I got it from work)

I have used Open Office since it came out ages ago, as for Presenter view ... don't really care I hate power point and I cant stand sitting through slide shows that are poorly made anyways. I make nice little note books and hand them out like in the old days and give real information that ppl can follow along with physically. I give out burned CDs of Open Office out to ppl all the time and I even got work to switch and they Love it.

I bought a student copy of office 2k in about 99. It still works. I use maybe 20% of it and it does everything I need. Why does everyone think you must upgrade, anyway?

Seriously thinking of OpenOffice, now...
